Celestial Purse

 

What You Need:

Hook: E 3.5mm

Yarn Needle

Fabric Quarters

Magnetic Button Clasp Snaps 18mm

Metal Rings

Yarn of your choice I used James C. Brett Top Value Shade 847, Cotton King Sultan Shadow Color 01. These 2 yarns are used together.

 

Abbreviations:

Ch: chain

Sl st: slip stitch

Sc: single crochet

Hdc: half double crochet

YO: yarn over

 

Star Stitch:

Insert your hook into the specified stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (2 loops on the hook).

Insert your hook into the next stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook).

Insert your hook into the next stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (4 loops on the hook).

Insert your hook into the next stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (5 loops on the hook).

Insert your hook into the next stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (6 loops on the hook).

YO and pull through all 6 loops on the hook.

Ch 1 to close the star.

 

Pattern:

Panels (Make 2)

Ch 53

Row 1: 1 sc in each st (52)

Row 2: Ch 4, Star stitch to last st. In back loops only.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. 2 hdc in the "eye" of the star from the previous row, repeat to end.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. In back loops only

Row 5: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across.

Row 6-25: Repeat Rows 2-5.

Round 26: 1 hdc in each st, 1 hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc in each corner.

Finishing: Fasten.


 

Middle

Ch 3

Row 1: 2 hdc in each ch. (4)

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 2 st’s, 2 hdc in next st. (6)

Row 3: Ch 1, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 4 st’s, 2 hdc in next st. (8)

Row 4: Ch 1, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 6 st’s, 2 hdc in next st. (10)

Row 5-80: Ch 1, 1 hdc in each st.

Row 81: 1 dec in next st, 1 hdc in next 6 st’s, 1 dec in next st. (8)

Row 82: 1 dec in next st, 1 hdc in next 4 st’s, 1 dec in next st. (6)

Row 83: 1 dec in next st, 1 hdc in next 2 st’s, 1 dec in next st. (4)

Row 84: 1 dec in next 2 st’s. (2) Finish off. Now is where you will add your tags.


 

Assembly

Sew middle around one panel then around the other panel.


 

Fabric

Make sure you put your magnetic button on before you sew the fabric on. (I forgot mine) I used a sewing machine for this part, I cut to pieces of fabric just a little bigger than the panels, sew the to half together and then sew to purse. 


 

Top

Ch 3

Row 1: 2 hdc in each ch. (4)

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 2 st’s, 2 hdc in next st. (6)

Row 3: Ch 1, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 4 st’s, 2 hdc in next st. (8)

Row 4: Ch 1, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 6 st’s, 2 hdc in next st. (10)

Row 5: Ch 1, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 7 st’s, 2 hdc in next st. (12)

Row 6: Ch 1, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 8 st’s, 2 hdc in next st. (14)

Row 7: Ch 1, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 9 st’s, 2 hdc in next st. (16)

Row 8-24: Ch 1, 1 hdc in each st. (16)

Finish off, sew on to purse and add magnetic button to end and also add Metal Rings.


 

Handles (Make 2)

Ch 9

Row 1: 1 sc in each st.

Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st in back loops only.

Row 3: repeat row 2 until handle is as long as you need. Fold together and sew then attach to rings. Enjoy.
