Create Jacket Triangle: (Make 4 short and 8 long)

Note: If this is not big enough for you then add more short triangles until it’s big enough also the long triangles are 24 ½ inches for me.

Start with black chain 7:

Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook and in next st in black, next 2 st in retro and last 2 st’s in black. (6)

Row 2: ch 1 turn, sc in each st across. (6)

Row 3: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in 1st in black, next st in black, 2 sc in next st in retro and 1 sc in next st in retro, 1 sc in next st in black and 2 sc in next st in black. (9)

Row 4: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. (9)

Row 5: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in 1st in black, next 2 st’s in black, 2 sc in next st in retro and next 2 st’s in retro, 1 sc in next 2 st’s in black, 2 st’s in next st in black. (12)

Row 6-10: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. (12)

Row 12-15: ch 1, turn, sc in 1in each st across. (15)

Row 16: ch 1, turn, turn, 2 sc in 1st in black, next 4 st’s in black, 2 sc in next st in retro and next 4 st’s in retro, 1sc in next 4 st’s in black, 2 st’s in next st in black. (18)

Row 17-20: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. (18)

Row 21: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in 1st in black, next 5 st’s in black, 2 sc in next st in retro and next 5 st’s in retro, 1sc in next 5 st’s in black, 2 st’s in next st in black. (21)

Row 22-25: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. (21)

Row 26: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in 1st in black, next 6 st’s in black, 2 sc in next st in retro and next 6 st’s in retro, 1sc in next 6 st’s in black, 2 st’s in next st in black. (24)

Row 27-32: ch 1, turn sc in each st across. (24)

Row 33: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in 1st in black, next 7 st’s in black, 2 sc in next st in retro and next 7 st’s in retro, 1sc in next 7 st’s in black, 2 st’s in next st in black. (27)

Row 34-39: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. (27)

Row 40: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in 1st in black, next 8 st’s in black, 2 sc in next st in retro and next 8 st’s in retro, 1sc in next 8 st’s in black, 2 st’s in next st in black. (30)

Row 41-46: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. (30)

Row 47: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in 1st in black, next 9 st’s in black, 2 sc in next st in retro and next 9 st’s in retro, 1sc in next 9 st’s in black, 2 st’s in next st in black. (33) Stop here for small triangles.

Row 48: For long triangles only, ch 1, turn, sc in each st across until triangles are down to your calf.

For each triangle put 1 board around, then sew them together 3 small triangles then all the long triangles and last the 3 triangles.

Now on the top and bottom you will do 2 rows of sc in black and 2 rows of sc in retro. Make sure to crochet over all your tails.

Continue doing 2 rows of sc in black and retro until you reach your underarm.

At this point you will have to try it on and make sure it is up to your underarm, now you will need to figure out how much room you will need for your arm and skip those stitches.

I started on one end with 10 stitches continuing to work in-between each color until I reach my shoulder, then skipping 20 stitches and sc in the next 25 continuing to work in-between each color until I reach your shoulder, and then skip 20 sc in next 10 and continuing to work in-between each color until I reach your shoulder.

These instructions are based on my weight and height so you may need to do more or less.

Now we will start the closing of the front of the jacket by sc up and down the inside of the arms. Once done add your buttons.

Now we start on the arms, we will attach our yarn right at the spot where the strap and back meet. We will do 3 rows of sc in black and 3 rows of retro and continue this pattern until we have covered are shoulder.

Now you will decrease by counting out how many st’s you have and diving that number by a low number (that will give you a whole number) so for example I have 80 st’s and will divide by 4 which will be 20, then take away 2, which will give me 18 and this is the number of st’s I sc in before I sc 2 together. So, every 9 rounds you will decrease.

Next decrease will be 1 sc in next 17 st’s, sc2 together. (72 st’s)

Next decrease will be 1 sc in next 16 st’s, sc2 together. (68 st’s)

Next decrease will be 1 sc in next 15 st’s, sc2 together. (64 st’s)

Next decrease will be 1 sc in next 14 st’s, sc2 together. (60 st’s)

Next decrease will be 1 sc in next 13 st’s, sc2 together. (56 st’s)

Next decrease will be 1 sc in next 12 st’s, sc2 together. (52 st’s)

Next decrease will be 1 sc in next 11 st’s, sc2 together. (48 st’s)

Next decrease will be 1 sc in next 10 st’s, sc2 together. (44 st’s)

Next decrease will be 1 sc in next 9 st’s, sc2 together. (40 st’s) Finish off. Repeat for other arm and enjoy.
