Pattern

1 sc around bag bottom, continue with 1 sc around for 17 rounds.

Side flaps (make 20)

Ch 20, 1 sc in each st turn, continue with 1 sc in each st for 5 rows, then do 6 more row but make sure to dec at each end. Once done sew them on to the bag.

Zipper Panels (make 2)

Ch 31, 1 sc in each st, turn, continue with 1 sc in each st for 5 rows once you have your 2 zipper panels sew the zipper on to the panels.

Once done sew zipper panels on to the bag.

Last thing you need to do is make the straps, ch 8 1 sc in each st, turn continue 1 sc in each st until strap are as long as you want, make 2 and sew them on to the bag. Enjoy.

The backpack is high up on the back so I would make the straps a little longer.
