Star Stich Mug Cozy

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn in your preferred color

Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)

Yarn needle

Scissors

Button for closure

Video

Abbreviations:

Ch: chain

Sl st: slip stitch

Sc: single crochet

Hdc: half double crochet

YO: yarn over

 

Star Stitch:

Insert your hook into the specified stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (2 loops on the hook).

Insert your hook into the next stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook).

Insert your hook into the next stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (4 loops on the hook).

Insert your hook into the next stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (5 loops on the hook).

Insert your hook into the next stitch.

YO and pull up a loop (6 loops on the hook).

YO and pull through all 6 loops on the hook.

Ch 1 to close the star.

 

Pattern:

Foundation Chain 31. Start with white

Row 1: Ch 1, turn. Ch 4, Star stitch to last st. Use Red

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. 2 sc in the "eye" of the star from the previous row, repeat to end. Use Red

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. Use White

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, Sl st in the back loops. Use White

Row 5: Ch 1, turn. Ch 4, Star stitch to last st. Only in the back loops. Use Green

Row 6: Ch 1, turn. 2 sc in the "eye" of the star from the previous row, repeat to end. Use Green

Row 7-13: Repeat Rows 3-6.

Round 14: 1 sc around

Finishing: Fasten off and weave in loose ends.

 

Button Loop:

Attach yarn in the middle of the side of mug cozy ch 8 and sc in next st. Finish off, sew button on to the middle of other side.

TurtleNeck Hoodie

What You Need:

Hook: H 5.0mm

Yarn Needle

Scissors

Video

Yarn Big Twist Twinkle Red and Teal

Note: You can use what ever yarn you want, but here's a substitution 

Mary Maxim Starlette Sparkle Yarn

 

Note: I will be alternating in between colors, but you can use just one color.

 

Turtle Neck

Ch 80, plus 1 for turning ch.

 

Join the 1st and last chain together, be careful not to twist it, make sure it can easily pass over your head so if you need to add more or less ch’s you can do so, but make sure it’s an even number.

 

Round1: Ch 2, Dc in each st, sl st to join.

 

Round 2-20: Ch 2, *Fpdc in first st, Bpdc in next* Slip st to join. (approx 8 inches or longer if needed)

 

Hood

Row 1: Ch 2, hdc in each st until st’s, turn

 

Row 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in next st, dc in each st until the last st, 2 hdc in last st, turn.

 

Row 3: Repeat row 2, until you have 6 inches. Continue until hdc without increasing, turtle neck hoodie should measure 22inches.

 

Fasten off leaving a long tail, sew hood together, weave in and finish off all ends.

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn in your choice of colors

Crochet hook appropriate for the yarn (usually a G or H hook works well)

Fiberfill or stuffing

Yarn needle

Scissors

St-stitch

Ch-chain

Sl-slip stitch

Sc-single crochet

Hdc-half double crochet

hdc2tog-half double crochet 2 sts together

 

Instructions:

Round 1: Ch 4, join, 8 sc in ring. Use Red

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each stitch around (16 stitches). Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use Red

Round 3: Ch 1, Sc in each st across. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use White

Round 4: Ch 1, Sl st in each st. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use White

Round 5: 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in the next st. In back loops only, repeat to end (24 stitches).  Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use Green

Round 6: 1 sc in next 2 st’s, 2 sc in the next st. Repeat to end (32 stitches).  Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use Green

Round 7: Ch 1, Sc in each st across. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use White (32 st)

Round 8: Ch 1, Sl st in each st. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use White (32 st)

Round 9: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st. In back loops only, Join with a sl st to ch 1. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use Red

Round 10: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use Red

Round 11: Ch 1, Sc in each st across. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use White

Round 12: Ch 1, Sl st in each st. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use White

Round 13: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st. In back loops only, Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use Green

Round 14: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use Green

Round 15: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 2 st’s, sc dec in next st, repeat to end. (24 stitches). Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use White

Stuff ornament

Round 16: Ch 1, Sl st in each st. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use White

Round 17: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st, sc dec in next st, in back loops only, repeat to end. (16 stitches). Join with a sl st to ch 1. . Use Red

Round 18: Sc dec in each st, repeat to end. (8 stitches). Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use Red

Round 19-20: Ch 1, Sc in each st across. Join with a sl st to ch 1. Use White,

Thread the tail through a yarn needle and weave it through the front loops of the remaining stitches. Pull tight to close the opening. Weave in any remaining ends. Attach a loop at the top for hanging by ch 10 and sc.
