I'm so excited to share another update on my Pumpkin Patch Voodoo Scarecrow crochet costume!

The very first pumpkin face patch is officially finished, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. This little jack-o'-lantern square is one of the signature details that will make the finished costume look like it's been stitched together from magical pumpkin patch patches.

Each pumpkin face will be scattered throughout the costume, adding little pops of Halloween charm while giving the patchwork design even more personality.

Halloween Patchwork Square

Create your own spooky Halloween patchwork designs with this easy Jack-O'-Lantern Square! This square is perfect for crochet costumes, blankets, bags, pillows, and other Halloween inspired projects.

This pattern uses basic crochet stitches and can be customized with different border colors to create a unique patchwork look.

• Worsted Weight Yarn- Colors: Orange
•  Crochet Thread- 2 Strands together
• 3.5 mm (H) Hook
• Yarn Needle

Jack-O'-Lantern Square

Square Base

Round 1:

Ch 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.

Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), work 2 hdc into the ring, ch 2.

(3 hdc, ch 2) three more times into the ring.

Join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning ch-2.

You should have 4 corner spaces.

Rounds 2-5:

Ch 2 (counts as first hdc).

Work 1 hdc into each stitch around.

In each corner space work:

2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc

Repeat around the square.

Join each round with a slip stitch.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Optional Black Border

This step is optional but recommended if you are using the square for a patchwork costume or blanket.

Using black yarn:

Sc evenly around the entire square.

Work 3 sc in each corner space to help maintain the square shape.

Join with a slip stitch.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Pattern Note:

The black border creates a cleaner edge for joining squares together and gives the patches a more defined, finished patchwork appearance.

Eyes (Make 2)

Using black yarn:

Ch 2.

Row 1:

Work 5 hdc in the second chain from the hook.

Ch 1, turn.
(5 stitches)

Row 2:

Ch 1.

Work 2 hdc in each stitch across.

Ch 1, turn.
(10 stitches)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Mouth

Using black yarn:

Ch 20.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

Pin the mouth onto the square before sewing. This makes placement easier and helps create an even smile.

Sew the mouth onto the square.

After securing the mouth, sew across the center of the mouth to hold it in place and create extra definition.

Add two small stitched lines in the center area above the mouth to create the nose.

Weave in all loose ends.

🎀 A Little Sparkle Goes a Long Way! ✨

 

I'm so excited to share another new project with all of you my Sparkle Crochet Bow! 💖

This bow may be small, but it definitely makes a statement. Made with gorgeous sequined yarn, it catches the light beautifully and adds the perfect touch of sparkle to any hairstyle. Whether it's worn on a clip, headband, or attached to a gift, this little bow is as fun to make as it is to wear!

Finishing Off

Now that you have a rectangle with a super long tail, it’s time to turn it into a bow!

Join your tapestry needle to the tail and weave in until you reach the center of the rectangle. Raise the center of the rectangle and secure the fold. Wrap yarn around the center. Weave in the tail to secure it.

Work in Progress: Crochet Pumpkin Patch Voodoo Scarecrow Costume 🎃

 

Halloween may still be a little ways off, but I'm already hard at work on my biggest crochet project of the year and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you!

This year's costume is an original design that combines some of my favorite spooky themes into one cozy, handcrafted creation: the Pumpkin Patch Voodoo Scarecrow!

Instead of a traditional dress, I'm designing this costume with long sleeves and full-length pants to make it warm enough for the chilly Halloween nights. The entire outfit will be made from crochet patchwork squares in beautiful shades of pumpkin orange, burnt orange, rust, mustard, brown, and black, giving it the look of an old scarecrow that's been lovingly stitched back together over the years.

One of my favorite details is that some of the patchwork squares will feature jack-o'-lantern faces.

But that's not all!

This costume will also include:

• 🎃 A glowing pumpkin staff to light the way through the pumpkin patch.
• 🐄 A spooky cute voodoo cow that hangs from the waist as a unique accessory.
• 🍂 Plenty of stitched details and patchwork textures inspired by scarecrows, voodoo dolls, and the magic of autumn.

I'm currently crocheting all of the patchwork squares first before assembling the costume. Once they're finished, I'll arrange the colors like a giant puzzle to create the perfect spooky patchwork design.

I'm so excited to finally share that the Creamsicle Bloom Jacket pattern is officially finished! 🎉

This project has been such a joy to create from start to finish. I wanted to design something that felt light, cozy, and effortless to wear, while still showing off the beauty of hand-dyed yarn. The soft creams, pinks, and subtle speckles reminded me of blooming flowers on a warm spring day—which is exactly how the Creamsicle Bloom Jacket got its name.

The oversized hood is one of my favorite features. It adds just the right amount of comfort and gives the jacket that cozy, "throw it on and go" feel. I also love how the contrasting pink hood and sleeves frame the delicate color changes in the body of the jacket.

The Rainbow Candy Dress is Finished!

🌈✨ Rainbow Candy Dress Progress Update ✨🌈

 

I’m excited to share that I’ve officially finished the bottom portion of the Rainbow Candy Dress! 🎉

After spending time perfecting the shaping I decided to add a row of playful ruffles along the hem. I love how they give the dress extra movement and add to the fun, candy-inspired feel of the design. The ruffled edge was exactly the finishing touch the skirt needed!

With the lower half complete, I’m now turning my attention to the neckline and upper edge of the dress. This is where I’ll be refining the fit and deciding on the final details that will tie the whole design together.

✨ Rainbow Candy Dress Update ✨

 

Success! I finally figured out how to get the pleats/ruffles I wanted for the Rainbow Candy Dress. 

After quite a bit of experimenting, I started counting out my stitches and strategically placing increases. For the increase stitches, I worked 3 HDC into the same stitch, and after repeating this over 2 rounds, the yarn began forming the fuller pleats/ruffles I was envisioning.

I'm so much happier with the shape now! The skirt has more movement, volume, and that playful candy inspired look I was hoping to achieve. Sometimes crochet design is all about testing ideas until you find the right formula, and this was definitely one of those moments.

Rainbow Candy Dress Progress Update

 

 

I’ve been working on shaping the skirt portion of the Rainbow Candy Dress, and I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes update about the pleats! Right now, I’ve been experimenting with increases to create that soft gathered effect, and it’s starting to show beautifully on one side of the dress. The challenge is getting those pleats to appear evenly all the way around instead of only in certain sections.

At the moment, I think I’ll need to add more structured increases and possibly adjust the spacing so the yarn folds more consistently. Crochet pleats can be a little tricky because the yarn naturally wants to drape differently depending on stitch tension and placement, but I’m getting closer to the look I have in mind. I want this dress to have a really playful, flowy silhouette with lots of movement and texture.

This stage is always a mix of testing, frogging, and reworking until everything balances out just right but that’s part of the creative process! I’m excited to keep refining it and see how dramatic I can make the pleats while still keeping the dress wearable and flattering.

The Rainbow Candy Dress is officially coming to life and I’m so excited to share another progress update with all of you! ✨

Since my last sneak peek, I’ve been refining the top portion of the dress and shaping the fit more carefully. Seeing it on the dress form really made the vision click for me the colors, texture, and overall vibe are turning out even prettier than I imagined 💕

This yarn continues to surprise me with every row. The soft rainbow speckles mixed with the white base give the entire piece such a dreamy “cotton candy meets carnival lights” feeling 🍭✨ Every section works up differently, which makes this project feel so unique and full of personality.

Right now I’m focusing on:

• Finalizing the top shaping

• Cleaning up the strap details

• Planning the skirt design

• Deciding how flowy and dramatic I want the finished dress to be

I want this dress to feel playful, colorful, and magical while still being wearable and flattering. So far, I’m absolutely loving how the stitch texture is highlighting all the rainbow color changes 🌈

I’m so excited to finally share the beginning of my newest crochet project with you all.

This is just the top portion of the dress so far, but I’m already completely obsessed with how the colors are working together. The yarn reminds me of colorful candy swirls, summer sunsets, and carnival treats all mixed into one dreamy design. 🍭💖

For this top, I wanted a shape that felt both playful and flattering, with a soft textured stitch pattern that lets all the rainbow colors shine. Every stitch feels different because of the color changes, which makes this project so fun to work on!

I’m still planning out the bottom portion, and I have so many ideas for how magical I want the finished dress to feel. I’m thinking flowy, vibrant, and full of movement 🌈✨

Midnight Carnival Purse

 

What You Need

Hook: 3.5mm

Yarn needle

Scissors

Yarn-Sparkle Silver Lurex Thread, Gold Silver Sequin Sparkle, Carnival Artiste

Fabric – Any quilting fabric will do just fine just make sure it’s not to thin.

Foundation Single Crochet

Step 1: Chain 2

Step 2: Insert hook into 2nd chain from hook and draw up a loop.

Step 3: Chain 1 (not too tightly!) Place a stitch marker here.

Step 4: Now complete your single crochet as normal by doing a yarn over and drawing through the 2 loops on the hook.

Step 5: Insert your hook in the base chain of the previous stitch (aka where we put our stitch marker) and pull up a loop. Remove stitch marker if using.

Repeat Steps 3-5 for as many foundation single crochets as your pattern calls for. You will end on step 4.

Purse

Make a sc foundation ch as long as you want your purse to be.

Ch 1, turn, 1 hdc in each st to end, repeat this until you have the width of your purse.

Once you have the width of your purse you will sc all around putting 2 sc, ch2, 2 sc in each corner ending with a slip st.

This is where you will add your fabric to your purse.

Now fold your purse in half and sew up the sides.

 

Now add your D rings to the side of the purse by sewing them on.

 

Zipper

1 sc in each hole of zipper, once at end of zipper ch 3 and continue to sc on other side ch 3 end with a sl st.

Now add the zipper to the purse by sewing the zipper on, then enjoy your purse.

 

Birthday Dress Complete!

 

I finally finished my crochet birthday dress!!

This piece has been such a fun journey from picking out the perfect yarn to watching all the colors come together into something so unique and full of personality. I’m honestly so happy with how it turned out. The texture, the fit, the way the colors blend… it just feels right.

On top of that, I’ve officially completed the written pattern too! That part always takes just as much focus as making the piece itself, but it’s so worth it knowing I’ll be able to share it with you all.

Now that the dress is done, I’m moving on to the next part of the set: a matching purse 👜💖 I already have some ideas in mind to tie it all together, and I can’t wait to see how it complements the dress.

Button or Zipper

Stitch markers

 

Practical guideline

Fitted / cropped: ~55–60 squares

Standard hip-length: ~60–65 squares

Oversized or long: ~65–70 squares

Note: You may need more or less squares to fit your size.

 

Flower

Round 1: Ch 2, work 12 hdc into second ch from hook. Sl st into the first st of the round.

 

Round 2: 2 hdc in each st.

 

Round 3: Ch 1, 1 dc, 1 treble, 1 double treble (in next st), ch 2, sl st in second ch, 1 double treble, 1 treble, 1 dc in next st, ch 1, sl st in next st. Repeat around, sl st to bottom of first st. Cut yarn and sew in your ends.

 

Round 4: Attach yarn to any space in between the petals, ch 8 skip next space in between the petals, then sl st to the next space in between the petals, repeat to end.

 

Round 5: Ch 1, 8 hdc in ch 8 space, ch 2, repeat to end, sl st to first st.

 

Round 6-9:Ch 1, 1 hdc in each st, putting 2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc, in each ch 2 space, sl st to first st. Leave long tail for sewing.
