Christmas Hat

Materials:

Yarn – Red Heart- MistletoeCaron Simply Soft Party Snow Sparkle

Size F Crochet hook

Yarn needle

Fluffy Ball for top

Child to fit approx. 18-20” head circumference

Teen to fit approx. 19-21” head circumference

Adult Woman to fit approx. 21-23” head circumference

Adult Man to fit approx. 22-24” head circumference

 

 Hat

Round 1: ch 5, join, 10 hdc in ring, join

Round 2-: ch 1, 2 fpdc in each post, 2 bpdc in each st, repeat to end. (20 bpdc & 20 fpdc)

Round 3: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next st, repeat to end.

Round 4: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next 2 st’s, repeat to end.

Round 5: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next 3 st’s, repeat to end.

Round 6: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next 4 st’s, repeat to end.

Round 7: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next 5 st’s, repeat to end.

Round 8: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next 6 st’s, repeat to end.

Round 9: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next 7 st’s, repeat to end.

Round 10: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next 8 st’s, repeat to end.

Round 11: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next 9 st’s, repeat to end.

Round 12: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 2 bpdc in next st, 1 bpdc in next 10 st’s, repeat to end.

Round 13-32: ch 1, 1 fpdc in next 2 st’s, 1 bpdc in next 12 st’s, repeat to end. You know the hat is long enough when it gets right pasted your ears.

Now it’s tome for the border start with a fpdc dec (by fpdc 2 fpdc together) then do a bpdc repeat to end, do this for 3 rounds then finish off.

Last thing tie fluffy ball to top of hat by attaching yarn to the in side of the hat, hide all tails and enjoy.
