Star Winter Hat



Materials Needed:
5.5 mm I hook
Caron one pound- Dark Gray Mix
Bernat Pipsqueak- Whitey White
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Scissors

Hat
Ch 5, Join
Round 1: Ch 1, 12 hdc in ring, Join. (12)
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 fpdc around each post, 1 hdc in each st, repeat to end, join. 13 fpdc with one being around the joining ch, 13 hdc.
Round 3: Ch 1, 1 hdc in next st, *1 fpdc around each fpdc, 1 hdc in next 2 st’s *, repeat to end, join. 24 hdc, 13fpdc
Round 4: Ch 1, 1hdc in next st, * 1 fpdc around each fpdc, 1 hdc in next 3 st’s *, repeat to end, join. 36 hdc, 13fpdc
Round 5: Ch 1, 1hdc in next st, * 1 fpdc around each fpdc, 1 hdc in next 4 st’s *, repeat to end, join. 48 hdc, 13fpdc
Round 6: Ch 1, 1hdc in next st, * 1 fpdc around each fpdc, 1 hdc in next 5 st’s *, repeat to end, join. 60 hdc, 13fpdc
Round 7: Ch 1, 1hdc in next st, * 1 fpdc around each fpdc, 1 hdc in next 6 st’s *, repeat to end, join. 72 hdc, 13fpdc
Round 8-10: Ch 1, 1hdc in next st, *1 fpdc around each fpdc, 1 hdc in next 7st’s *, repeat to end, join. 84 hdc, 13fpdc
Round 11: Ch 1, hdc in each st. Join (97)
Round 12: Ch 1, working in the back of your hdc round hdc in each loop, join (97)
Round 13: Star st, Ch 3, Insert your hook into the second ch from hook, yarn over and pull through. Continue to insert your hook yarning over and pulling through until there are six loops on your hook. With six loops on your hook, yarn over one more time and pull through all six loops. Chain one. This finishes the star. It also creates an eye in the center of the star. You will be working into the eye, Now insert your hook into the eye that you just made, yarn over and pull through. There will now be two loops on your hook. Now, insert your hook into the space between the two last post from the first star. Yarn over and pull through. There will be three loops on your hook. Insert your hook into the same st where the last st of the previous star was worked. Yarn over and pull through. There will now be four loops on your hook. Insert your hook into the next st, yarn over and pull through. Repeat in the next st. This will give you six loops on your hook. As you know, this is the number of loops that you need for each star stitch. Repeat to the end.
Round 14:  Ch1, 1 sc in each (97)
Round 15-19: Repeat round 13 and 14. Make sure you do the last round in hdc.
Round 20: Ch 1, working in the back of your hdc round hdc in each loop, join (97)
Round 21-27:  Ch1, 1 hdc in each (97)

Inter Hat
Note: Make second hat in white
Ch, 5
Round 1: Ch 1, 10 hdc in ring (10)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in each st. (20)
Round 3: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next st, repeat to end. (30)
Round 4: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 2st’s, repeat to end. (40)
Round 5: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 3st’s, repeat to end. (50)
Round 6: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 4st’s, repeat to end. (60)
Round 7: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 5sts, repeat to end. (70)
Round 8: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 6sts, repeat to end. (80)
Round 9: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 7sts, repeat to end. (90)
Round 8-27: Ch 1, hdc in each st. (90)

When both hats are made put white hat inside gray hat and hdc crochet them together with the white yarn. Enjoy
