Spiral Hat

This pattern is toddle size, and uses front post double crochets (fpdc), double crochets (dc).  It works in rounds to form the beanie. If you need this hat to be smaller or bigger take away dc's for smaller hat and increase for bigger hat.



 I used Big Twist Yarn and Crochet Hook I:

Note: Join yarn when there are two loops on the hooks. If you need help add color to your spiral hat check out the video below.

 Chain 8, sl st to first ch


Round 1:  Ch 2, 15 dc into ring

Round 2: Ch 2, 1 fpdc in every dc (15 sts) join to the top of the ch 2.

Round 3: Ch 2,  1 fpdc in every fpdc, 1 dc in each sp between the fpdc.  Repeat  (30 sts) join to the top of the ch 2.

Round 4: Ch 2, 1 fpdc in every fpdc, 2 dc in each sp between the fpdc and dc.  Repeat (45 sts) join to the top of the ch 2.

Rounds 5:  1 fpdc in every fpdc, 3 dc in each sp between the fpdc and dc.  Repeat (60 sts) join to the top of the ch 2.

Round 6: 1 fpdc in every fpdc, 4 dc in each sp between the fpdc and dc.  Repeat  join to the top of the ch 2. (75)

Rounds 7-19: Repeat round 6, Tie off and weave in ends.  Done!
