Crochet Pilot Hat





Thanks to Sarah for this pattern, Her original Pattern is Here with more sizes for hats.
 Materials:
Chunky yarn in brown, gray and white. I used Big Twist Chunky Yarn.
Size H Crochet Hook
Tapestry Needle



Hat:
Ch 4, Join with Sl-St, 11 DC in hole, join to first DC, chain 2
Row 2: 2 DC in each around, join, chain 2 (22 DC)
Row 3: 2 DC in first, DC in next, repeat around, join, chain 2 (33 DC)
Row 4: 2 DC in first, DC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 2 (44 DC)
Row 5: 2 DC in first, DC in next 10, repeat around, join, chain 2 (48 DC)
Row 6: 2 DC in first, DC in next 11, join, chain 2 (52 DC)
Row 7: 2 DC in first, DC in next 12, join, chain 2 (56 DC)
Row 8-13: DC in each around, join, chain 2 (56 DC)


Earflap Make 2: 
Ch 1, SC in next 12, chain 1, turn
Row 2: SC decrease, SC in next 8, SC decrease, chain 1, turn
Row 3: SC across (10 SC)
Row 4: SC decrease, SC in next 6, SC decrease, chain 1, turn
Row 5: SC across ( 8 SC)
Row 6: SC decrease, SC in next 4, SC decrease, chain 1, turn
Row 7: SC across ( 6 SC)
Row 8: SC decrease, SC in next 2, SC decrease, chain 1, turn
Row 9: SC across (4 SC)
Row 10: Make 2 SC decreases, fasten off, weave in ends

With chunky white yarn, attach yarn and SC around the entire bottom edge of the hat. Fasten off and weave in ends.

 Goggle Pattern:
With chunky gray Ch 5, 2 SC in second chain from hook, SC in next 2 stitches, 2 SC in last stitch, ch 1, turn 
Row 2: SC in each stitch, ch 1, turn (6 SC) 
Row 3: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 4, 2 SC in last, ch 1, turn 
Row 4-8: SC in each stitch, ch 1, turn (8 SC) 
Row 9: SC dec, SC in next 4, SC dec, ch 1, turn 
Row 10: SC in each stitch, ch 1 turn (6 SC) 
Row 11: SC dec, SC in next 4, ch 1, turn 
Row 12: SC in each stitch, ch 1, turn (5 SC) 
Row 13: 2 SC in first, SC in next 4, ch 1, turn 
Row 14: SC in each stitch, ch 1, turn (6 SC) 
Row 15: 2 SC in first, SC in next 4, 2 SC in last stitch, ch 1, turn 
Row 16-20: SC in each stitch, ch 1, turn (8 SC) 
Row 21: SC dec, SC in next 4, SC dec, ch 1, turn 
Row 22: SC in each stitch, ch 1, turn (6 SC) 
Row 23: SC dec, SC in next 2, SC dec, ch 1, fasten off weave in ends.
With Chunky white yarn SC around the edge of entire goggle, fasten off and weave in ends.
 Now you will want to Surface Slip Stitch the circles to make the eye holes.

Sew the goggles on to the front of the hat.
Attach chunky white yarn one more time to make the strap. Begin in the middle edge on one side of the goggles and surface slip stitch around the hat the other side of the goggles.
