Note: When changing colors do not cut dropped color. Carry it on inside and pick back up when you need that color again.

Bottom: Make 2

With pink ch 35. 

Rounds 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next 31 ch’s, 4 hdc in last ch. Continuing down other side of ch, hdc in next 32 ch’s, 2 hdc in first. Sl st in 2nd ch.

Rounds 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next 31 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next 31 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s. Sl st in ch 2.

Rounds 3: Ch 2, hdc in next 2 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next 32 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next 4 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next 32 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, 1 hdc in next st. Sl st in ch 2.

Rounds 6: Ch 2, hdc in next 7 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next 38 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next 10 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next 38 st’s, 2 hdc in next 2 st’s, hdc in next 2 st’s. Sl st in ch 2.

Rounds 7: Sl st in ea st, sl st in beginning ch 1.

Rounds 8: Working in back loops only, Ch 1, sc in ea st, sl st in ch 1.

Note: on the second bottom you will not do round 8.

Now you will cut out a piece of plastic canvas in the shape of the bottom of the bag and sew it in-between the 2 bottoms. Make sure to leave a long tail on one of the bottoms for sewing.

Round 9- 10: Ch 1, hdc in each st, join.

Round 11: Ch 1, hdc in next 6 st’s in pink, *hdc in next st in green, hdc in next 12 st’s in pink*, hdc in last 5 st’s in pink, join.

Round 12-16: Ch 1, hdc in next 5 st's in pink, *hdc in next 3 st's in green, hdc in next 10 st's on pink*, hdc in last 4 st's in pink, join.

Round 17: Ch 1, hdc in the next 2 st in pink, *hdc in next 6 st’s in green, hdc in next 7 st’s in pink*, hdc in last 4 st’s in pink, join.

Round 18: Ch 1, hdc in the next st in pink, *hdc in next 10 st’s in green, hdc in next 3 st’s in pink*, hdc in last st in pink, join.

Round 36-40:  Ch 1, 1 sc in each st, join

Round 37: Sc in next 25 st’s, ch 2, skip 3 st’s, sc in next 25 st’s, ch 2, skip 3 st’s, sc in next 25 st’s, ch 2, skip 3 st’s, sc in next 23 st’s, ch 2, skip 3 st’s, and each st to end.

Round 41-42: 1 sc in each st. Finish off.

Now you will turn your bag inside out, Push back one side of top of bag.

Now take the base of your grommet kit and place it right under to hole you made in the bag flat part down.

Now take your grommet and place it on top of your base flat part down.

Now fit the hole over the grommet.

Now take the washer and fit it over the grommet.

Now use the last piece to put on top and hammer away.

Now do this to all 4 holes.

Handles: Make 2

Using three strings of yarn together and a J hook (Lion Brand- Jeans- Capri and Bermuda Shorts- Caron One Pounder- White) hdc until you reach 26 inches.

Turn your work, 1 hdc in each st, continue to hdc in each st until handle is big enough that when tied in to a knot it won’t come out of the holes in the bag, enjoy!

Santa Hat

Materials:

Lion Brand ZZ Twist- White and Red

Crochet Hook Size G (4.00 mm)

Tapestry Needle

Note: You will need to measure you head or the head your making the hat for to know how long to make the band. I made 3 hats 21in, and 2 in 22in.

Band:

Round 1: ch 13 sc in each st and turn. (12 sc)

Round 2:  ch 1, sc in each st, turn. (12 sc)

Round 3:  ch 1, sc in each st, back loops only, turn. (12sc)

Round 4-44: repeat round 2. The band measures 21 inches, without stretching. Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.

Hat

Round 1: Sc around the band. (109 sc)

Round 2: Ch 3, insert your hook into the second chain and yarn over and pull a loop through, do this 6x you will have 6 loops on your hook.  With six loops on your hook, yarn over one more time and pull through all six loops. (start made) Chain one, (this finishes the star and creates the eye in the center of the star.) insert your hook into the eye and yarn over and pull through, insert your hook into the space between the two last spikes from the first star, yarn over and pull through, insert your hook into the same chain where you worked the last stitch of the previous star, yarn over and pull through, insert your hook into the next 2 st’s, you should have six loops on your hook. With six loops on your hook, yarn over one more time and pull through all six loops. (second start made), repeat this to end of round. Sl st to join

Round 3: 2 sc in each eye of the start. Sl st to join

Round 4: Repeat round 2-3 until hat is 5in long this includes the band.

Note: You decrease by putting 1 sc in the eye’s instead of 2, but you must decrease evenly, or the hat will be lopsided. 

Round 5:  2 sc in next 7 eyes of the start, 1 sc in next eye of star, repeat to last 3 eyes, 2 sc in last 3 eyes.

Round 6: Start st to end. 

Round 7: 2 sc in next 6 eyes of the start, 1 sc in next eye of star, repeat to end.

Round 8: Start st to end. 

Round 9: 2 sc in next 5 eyes of the start, 1 sc in next eye of star, repeat to end.

Round 10: Start st to end.

 Round 11: 2 sc in next 4 eyes of the start, 1 sc in next eye of star, repeat end.

Round 12: Start st to end.

Round 13: 2 sc in next 3 eyes of the start, 1 sc in next eye of star, repeat to end.

Round 14: Start st to end.

Round 15: 2 sc in next 2 eyes of the start, 1 sc in next eye of star, repeat to end.

Round 16: Start st to end.

Round 17: 2 sc in next eye of the start, 1 sc in next eye of star, repeat to end.

Round 18: Start st to end.

Round 19: Repeat round 17-18 until hat is closed at top. Finish off.

Top Ball

Note: I used Bernat Pipsqueak Yarn- Whitey White, it’s nice a soft but it a bit messy and the yarn falls ever time you shake the hat. So, you can use what ever yarn you like for this part.

Take the yarn and wrap it around your hand many times, take it off and wrap yarn sideways, so that when you cut the yarn it won’t fall apart, leave long tail and sew ball on to top of hat. Enjoy
