What You Need

Hook-G 4.0mm

Yarn- Red Heart Retro

Scissors

Yarn Needle

Pompom

 

Band

Row 1: ch 25 sc in each st and turn. (24 sc)

Row 2: Sc in each st, turn. (24 sc)

Row 3:  ch 1, turn, sc in each st, back loops only, turn. (24 sc)

Row 4: Repeat row 3 until the band fits around your head without stretching. Mines measure 21 ½ inches. Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.

Once you reach your size you will fold band in half and evenly slip stitch the two halves together. Sew the ends together, turn band inside out, then work an even number of sc around the band.

 

Hat

Round 1: Ch 1, skip one st, hdc in next st, hdc in skip st repeat to end.

Round 2: Ch 1,1 sc in each st.

Round 3: Repeat round 1and 2 until hat is 9 inches. Leave long tail for sewing on pompom.

Now we will put the pompom on top by sewing it, loop yarn through each st and pull tight then loop pompom on top and finish off.
